Jie Wu Weiss, Ph.D.  (Assistant Professor of Health Science, Division of Kinesiology and Health Science, California State University, Fullerton).  Dr. Weiss has more than 6 years research experience in the health promotion and disease prevention areas, including school- and community-based tobacco and other substance use prevention and intervention. She was Principal Investigator on a tobacco prevention research project funded by the California Tobacco Related Disease Research Program.  She investigated associations between smoking behavior and psychosocial, eating, and weight concerns among culturally diverse (Latino and Asian) adolescents. She worked on multiple research projects, including two large NIH-funded multidisciplinary research centers, the Transdisciplinary Tobacco Use Research Center (TTURC) and the Transdisciplinary Prevention Research Center (TPRC). She has ongoing collaborative relationships with school and community leaders.  She has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals along with a book chapter, and has presented at many national and international scientific conferences.
